How it works
A server that uses the xeroBytes Manager bot can put a requirement on a role, such as “verified governor of kingdom 1234”. In the server, open the role’s Linked Roles link. Discord sends you here, you sign in with Discord, and xerobytes.net tells Discord what it knows about your governor. Discord then compares that with the server’s requirement and gives you the role if you meet it. The site never sees the server or the role.
You need a verified governor first. In your alliance’s server, press the bot’s Verify button and give your governor ID. If you have several governors, what Discord sees is your main.
What Discord is told
Four values, for your main governor, and nothing else. Discord holds one set per person, so every server sees the same values.
- Verified governor
- Whether you have a governor verified through the bot.
- Kingdom
- Its current kingdom, from the newest scan that includes it.
- Power (millions)
- Its power from the newest scan, rounded down to millions.
- Verification tier
- 1 if an officer vouched for you, 2 if the kingdom’s roster agreed.
Discord also shows your governor’s name and ID as the connection’s username.
What we keep
Your Discord user ID, the sign-in tokens Discord gives us, and the values we last sent. The tokens are encrypted before they are stored, and they allow two things only: reading who you are on Discord, and writing these four values. They cannot read your servers, your messages or your friends.
We keep the tokens so we can update Discord when something changes: your governor is verified or unbound, or a new scan shows it in another kingdom or at another power. If you are signed in to xerobytes.net when you link, the link is recorded against your account too, so the governors on your account count.
Stopping
Sign in again to stop sharing. We clear what Discord holds, end the sign-in and delete the tokens. Removing the xeroBytes Manager from Discord’s Authorized Apps settings has the same effect, and we delete the tokens the next time Discord refuses them.
For server owners
Add the xeroBytes Manager to your server. Then, in Server Settings, open Roles, choose a role, open Links, and add a requirement from xeroBytes. Pick any of the four values: for example, Verified governor, and Kingdom equal to your kingdom number. Members see a Linked Roles link for that role and come here through it.
