xeroBytes Manager

The Discord bot that verifies governors and runs the title queue for a Rise of Kingdoms kingdom.

For the kingdom’s owner

One Discord server per kingdom. Setting it up takes four steps, and the kingdom’s settings page on this site shows which are done.

  1. Step 1Add the bot to the server

You need Manage Server in it. Discord asks which server; pick the kingdom’s.

  2. Step 2Let it build the channels and roles

In the server, run /setup new for an empty server, or /setup existing to add only what is missing. That gives you the verification channel with its Verify button, the titles channel and admin-commands, where officers’ cards go.

  3. Step 3Link the server to your kingdom

On your kingdom’s settings page, pick the server under Discord server, or paste its id. Or run /link with your kingdom number in the server and confirm on the page it opens. Only the kingdom’s owner can do this. Until it is done, the bot refuses every verification with kingdom_unbound.

  4. Step 4Name your officers on the site

Officers are the kingdom’s officers on xerobytes.net. Discord roles never make anyone an officer, so a server admin who is not an officer here cannot approve verifications or give titles. Each officer then joins their Discord account once, as the next part says.

Then, in the server: /verify settings sets the alliance lock, the role verifying gives and takes, and nickname sync. /titles settings sets each title’s hold time, locks a title, and keeps the ban and VIP lists. Out of the box a title is held for 120 seconds, there is no cooldown and no daily limit, up to 50 can wait per title, and VIPs go first.

For officers

Join your Discord account once

The bot asks the site whether whoever pressed a button is one of the kingdom’s officers. The site can tell only once your Discord account is joined to your xerobytes.net account. Any one of these does it:

  • run /link in the server, open the link only you can see, and press the button while signed in;
  • sign in to xerobytes.net with Discord;
  • link Linked Roles while signed in.

The kingdom’s settings page shows whether yours is joined. Until it is, the bot answers “The site does not have you as an officer of this kingdom”.

Verifications

When the kingdom’s latest roster has the member’s governor under the same name, the bot verifies them on its own. Otherwise a card with Approve and Reject comes to admin-commands, with what the screenshot showed. Its screenshot link opens on this site, for the kingdom’s officers only. You cannot approve your own. Rejecting tells the member and opens a private ticket with them.

A card that says “Refused by the site” is closed: the member presses Verify again. /verify pending lists who is waiting and who never verified; /verify approve and /verify reject decide without the card; /verify unbind frees a governor id, and deletes its screenshot.

Titles

When a title is free, a card comes to admin-commands: “Give Duke to Ironside (80000001)”. Give it in the game, then press Given: the hold starts then, and the member is told. Skip passes over someone who is not there. /queue post keeps the queue counts posted in a channel.

Other commands

/whois finds the governor behind a member, or the member behind a governor id. /channel locks, unlocks, slows, adds and archives channels; /purge and /announce do what they say. ?help lists them all in the server.

For members

Verify your governor

  1. Step 1Take a screenshot of your governor profile

The page that shows your name and governor id. PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 8 MB.

  2. Step 2Press Verify in the verification channel

Add the screenshot to the form. Your governor id and name are optional: the bot reads the id from the screenshot and the name from the kingdom’s roster. If you type the id, check it digit by digit; when it differs from the screenshot, an officer has to look.

  3. Step 3Wait for the answer

If the roster agrees you are verified at once. If not, an officer checks your screenshot and the bot tells you. If you are refused, the bot says why and opens a private ticket with the officers.

Only the kingdom’s officers see your screenshot. It is kept while your governor stays verified and deleted when it is unbound; one that never leads to a verification is deleted after seven days. The Privacy Policy has the rest.

Ask for a title

In the titles channel, type just the word: duke, arch, sci or just. The bot tells you your place. When an officer gives it to you, you hold it for the kingdom’s hold time; type done when you finish early so the next person gets it.

Anywhere: ?me shows your place in every queue, ?queue the counts, ?queue duke one title, and ?help what the bot answers.

Why was I refused?

The bot says it in words; an officer’s card shows the code in the left column.
