The Crucible

Two marches enter. One comes out ahead. Run hundreds of fights in your browser, watch one play out turn by turn, and see what would swing it your way.

The battle

One march against one in the open. No one dies; the losses are wounded.

The season changes nothing until a march wears iconic gear.

How to read a result

Commander skills as of 28 September 2026; model 4.0.0.

The Crucible is a model of a fight, not the game's own calculation. It runs the same fight many times with the skills' chances rolled afresh, and reports how often the attacker came out ahead. The 95% interval is how far that share could move with more runs; it says nothing about whether the model itself is right.

The confidence label

  • High: every number that took part was read in game and confirmed, and no skill effect in the fight is left out.
  • Medium: a community measurement took part, one skill effect is left out, or a commander's kit is not yet confirmed in game.
  • Low: a number from a paper model took part, or more than one skill effect is left out.

2 of 145 commander kits are confirmed in game. The model's rules were corrected from a recorded fight's log, but it has not yet been scored against recorded fights; until it is, read a result as a comparison between setups rather than a forecast.

Every result lists what it leaves out. Some of that is the model (march speed, positioning, hospital overflow); some is particular to the commanders in the fight.
