By the end of this page you will have matched what you see to one of the problems met so far, and know what to do about it.
Before trying anything that removes or reloads the extension, export first.
Nothing is being recorded
You play, and the popup still says "none yet" or the count does not move. Check these in order.
- Is capture on? Press the HouseBreaker icon. The top of the popup must say "Capture on". If it says "Capture off", press the switch.
- Are you on stake.us? The extension works on
https://stake.usand on no other address. It does nothing on stake.com or on any mirror. - Is it a Stake Original? Slots and live games from other providers cannot be recorded. Try one bet on Dice or Keno.
- Was the page open before the extension was installed or reloaded? Reload the stake.us tab once. The extension starts reading a page only when the page loads.
- Is the extension switched on? Open your browser's extensions page and check that HouseBreaker's switch is on.
To see for yourself, press Open Diagnostics and place one bet. A new row with the origin "own-request" should appear under "Recent raw events". If it does, recording works.
The extension has vanished, or the browser says it could not load it
The folder it was loaded from was moved, renamed or deleted. The browser reads the extension from that folder every time it starts.
- If you still have the folder: put it back exactly where it was, with the same name, and press Reload on the extensions page. Your record is still there.
- If the folder is gone: unzip the package again, to a place where it will stay. On the extensions page press Load unpacked and select the new folder. The extension has the same ID wherever it is loaded from, so the browser keeps the record that belongs to it. Do not press Remove on the broken entry first: removing deletes the record.
The browser switched the extension off
After a restart HouseBreaker is in the list but its switch is off. Either the developer-mode reminder was answered with "Disable" or "Turn off", or Developer mode was switched off.
Open the extensions page, turn Developer mode on, and turn HouseBreaker's switch on. Nothing is lost.
The side panel shows a block in Vivaldi
In Vivaldi the panel may open with "This page has been blocked by Vivaldi" in place of the tracker. Vivaldi runs an extension's side panel as one of its own web panels, and it sometimes refuses the page.
- Press the HouseBreaker icon and choose Open in a window. The tracker opens in a small window of its own, and the popup remembers that choice.
- If an old HouseBreaker panel is left in Vivaldi's panel bar, right-click it there and remove it.
The window shows exactly what the side panel would.
The side panel is blank, or says "Reconnecting"
- Blank: close it and press Open in a window in the popup.
- Reconnecting: the panel has lost touch with the rest of the extension, usually just after an update. Close the panel and open it again. If it stays, press Reload on the extensions page, then reload the stake.us tab.
The figures look too low
The extension counts only what this browser recorded while it was on. Bets from another device, another browser, or from before you installed it are not there, and neither is anything from a time when capture was off. This is expected.
Your complete history is in Stake's own Game Archive, which the desktop app reads.
"This file belongs to another account"
This message comes from the desktop app (Bundle), when a file you add holds bets from a different Stake account than the profile already holds. It keeps two people's play from being mixed into one set of figures.
Make a separate profile for that file: the message offers a button for it. Nothing was imported and nothing was changed.
Windows warns about the installer
This is about the desktop app (Bundle), not the extension. When the installer is first run, Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC". The desktop pages of this guide describe what to check before going on. The extension is not an installer and never causes this prompt.
The popup says "Not linked"
That is normal if you have the Web package only: it means no HouseBreaker desktop app was found on this computer. The extension records and analyses without it.
Something else
Press Open Diagnostics and use Export scrubbed sample. That file holds no username, balance, seed, time or real amount, and is the one to send with a description of what you saw. Do not send the full export.
