Kingdom Ages & Seasons

The arc of a server from Day 0 to the Season of Conquest — and what matters at each stage. Pick your stage above to highlight what applies now.

The Codex
Foundation

Foundation — the first weeks

  • Tutorial arc and early quests: rush City Hall, unlock the Blacksmith (the “Blacksmith Apprentice” side quest), start Expedition.
  • Build your first farm account IMMEDIATELY — for F2P it is among the highest-return investments in the game.
  • Permanent modes come online: Sunset Canyon, Expedition, guardians/runes, and barbarian/fort peacekeeping.
  • Recurring PvE rotates in: Golden Kingdom, Shadow Legion, Ceroli Crisis, Lohar’s Arms Training.
  • The beginner peace shield drops around Day 2; Create Your Own History runs Days 1–8 (quests lock on Day 8).
The two dates worth planning around

The first Wheel of Fortune lands on Day 24 (then ~every 14 days), and KvK1 opens around Day 85–105. Skip the first MGE and hoard gems for overlapping More-Than-Gems + Wheel-of-Fortune windows.

Growth

Growth — zone events and the first competitions

  • Zone/monument milestones trigger server events as the kingdom hits power and progress thresholds — most “dates” are really milestones.
  • Mightiest Governor begins recurring — the single most important individual event for legendary sculptures (six stages: Training, Barbarians, Gathering, Power, Kill, Final Sprint).
  • Ark of Osiris unlocks with kingdom age (~every 2 weeks); Champions of Olympia joins the competitive rotation.
  • Economy events drive summons and gear: More Than Gems, Wheel of Fortune, Archaeological Dig, Holy Knight’s Treasure, Esmeralda’s House.
The MGE server-age reality check

On old servers packed with maxed-T5 spenders, an F2P without T5 should usually SKIP the MGE kill race and invest those speedups into reaching T5 instead — the long-term payoff is larger.

KvK 1 — Lost Kingdom

KvK 1 — The Lost Kingdom, stage by stage

The first cross-kingdom war is the game’s defining mid-game milestone. A typical stage progression (goals and timing vary by kingdom):

  1. Pre-season prep: build gear, stockpile resources AS ITEMS (unopened bundles can’t be plundered), ready farms, buy teleporters and shields.
  2. KvK begins; all alliances build Alliance Forts.
  3. Crusader Camps activate; Artifacts unlock; coalitions fight to control a Crusader Camp.
  4. Kill/burn goals: defeat tens of thousands of high-level barbarians; destroy enemy forts (fort kills pay Books of Covenant).
  5. The Ruined Crusader Fortress activates (Past Glory begins); controlling it adds coalition members and buffs.
  6. Ancient Ruins, Level-4 Passes, and Hierons activate in sequence — the large open-field wars that decide control.
  7. Endgame objectives (Altars, temples) and the final push determine the winning coalition.
KvK survival rules

Save speedups for fighting; kill barbarians for speedups, gems and honor; keep a farm in the safe zone; shield or teleport before going offline in a hot zone. Nature’s Gift (the alliance resource summon) is disabled inside the Lost Kingdom — don’t bank on it.

The season clock also decides which alliance techs pay when: Building Durability, Conqueror and Rapid March pay during the fort-and-flag chapters; Assembly Charge, Unite As One and Fast Rally pay once ruins, passes and city fights dominate; Troops Healing pays continuously.

KvK 2–3

KvK 2–3 — the closing window

The mid-KvK seasons are the last window for time-limited investments. Some strong commanders are explicitly “invest before KvK4 / Season of Conquest only” — Saladin and Takeda are the canonical examples. Match every Gold Head spend to your kingdom’s season: a commander who ages out before your next war season is a wasted cornerstone.

Version resistance beats raw power

Plan investment by season: version-resistant and Prime commanders age well; older single-role picks decay. When in doubt, the universal pair (Vercingetorix + Philip II) holds value across seasons.

Season of Conquest

Season of Conquest — the endgame

  • KvK4+ is where specialised marches, Primes, and full T5 armies define the meta; spenders field four to six purpose-built marches.
  • F2P doctrine: concentrate everything on one finished cornerstone pairing plus farms; the maxed-T4 plateau with full universals remains a competitive war footing (see Governor Research Routes).
  • Event rewards and availability scale with your kingdom’s season, and Lilith periodically rebalances modes — recheck the meta each season before spending.
