Daily Routine & Farm Ops

The daily optimisation loop, alliance field operations, investment discipline, and how to teach all of it.

The daily loop

[P] Paper model
  1. Spend all free Action Points on Barbarian Forts and chains — never let the AP bar sit full (check the green potion under your profile). Save AP potions for events.
  2. Keep every gathering march deployed; idle marches are wasted resources.
  3. Run Sunset Canyon late (≈23:55 UTC) so opponents can’t knock you down before reset.
  4. Progress Expedition; claim the VIP chest, daily quests, and alliance help.
  5. Transfer farm resources to your main and re-deploy the farm’s gatherers.
  6. Contribute to alliance builds/tech and press alliance help — the only zero-cost speedup in the game.
Consistency compounds

For F2P, troop conservation usually beats a minor victory, and a modest daily routine compounds faster than marathon sessions. Fighting is expensive; discipline is free.

Alliance field operations

[P] Paper model
  • Barbarian forts: rally with peacekeeping leads — Boudica, Aethelflaed, Belisarius (F2P); Minamoto, Cao Cao (spender). Correct leads end the need for Lohar rallies.
  • Lohar is the best chaining commander — expertise him fast (his necklace grants extra XP), and learn proper chaining: it conserves large amounts of Action Points.
  • Guardians: always wait for the leader’s charge signal so no one misses a tag; never attack allied marches — it only pays the hospital bill.
  • Gathering: raise gatherers to level 37 to complete the tree; prioritise cheap gatherers on mains and don’t spend Gold Heads on legendary gatherers there. Reaper’s set + a farm account maximise output.
  • AP discipline: all free AP daily on forts/chains; AP potions only for real events (e.g. Marauders pre-KvK).

Investment discipline, by wallet

[P] Paper model

The same principle governs both paths — finish one thing completely before starting the next — but the portfolios differ:

What it costs
F2P

F2P: concentrate Gold Heads on one cornerstone plus a universal deputy (Vercingetorix + Philip II), lean on evergreen Epics and free Legendaries, and run multiple farms. The cost is time and discipline, not money.

What it costs
Spender

Spender: build four to six specialised marches for the Season of Conquest, prioritising Primes and version-resistant picks plus gear and troop tiers — timed to Recharge-Reward events.

Teaching others, in dependency order

[P] Paper model
  1. Fundamentals: the troop triangle, City-Hall-first, and the Gold-Head rule.
  2. Economy: farm account immediately; gatherers always deployed; join an active alliance.
  3. Commanders: pick one troop type; expertise cheap evergreen Epics first; then one meta primary + deputy.
  4. Talents & gear: skill order before every sculpture spend (talents are reversible, sculptures are not), role-appropriate gear, the buff-stacking math.
  5. Modes: Sunset Canyon and Expedition as safe practice before risking troops in Ark of Osiris and KvK.
  6. Coordination: Discord presence, waiting for signals, following callers — teamwork wins the modes that matter.
The coaching mantra

“Finish one thing completely before starting the next.” Most new-player mistakes are violations of that single rule.
